Happy Monday, Siftr readers!

Recently, subscriber Erin wrote in with a question many food bloggers are quietly wrestling with:

I would LOVE to see a newsletter on how/when to update posts. I feel like I have no idea what to do anymore. I have been removing unnecessary information and overall making things more concise. I'd love some actionable items on what to do—like should we include FAQs or not? Some real-life examples of what is and isn’t working would be great. Even saying what isn’t working is helpful too!

Erin’s question echoes many of the comments sparked by Siftr’s last issue, The Era of SEO Page Formulas is Over.

Because here’s the reality: when you’re publishing new recipes weekly and sitting on hundreds of older posts, “keeping everything updated” can feel… impossible.

The result?

Updates happen reactively, usually after traffic drops, when recipe rankings wobble, or because an SEO tool tells you a post needs updating.

Today’s issue argues for a different approach: updating posts proactively based on their priority in your organic traffic portfolio.

We also introduce a repeatable monthly process to help you stay ahead.
